She learned to tame this part of her, howbeit it's still a work in progress. She repeatedly caused great havoc because she couldn’t control the beast inside.
And here she was again staring at the man she thought loved her and would never let her down, the one she thought she would spend her grey days with, now she has to make a choice.
Ariana was a young beautiful lady who grew up in a small town where anyone didn’t care about the well-being of the nearest neighbor. She was quite a strong lady who kept the secrets of her family to herself despite the rumors she heard when she went to the market on markets days.
Ariana’s mother, Pamela was everything a man could desire in a woman. Due to parental pressure and circumstances, she was forced to give up her dreams at a tender age and get married. Well fortunately, she was allowed to decide on who she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. She found peace and joy in the arms of a young, handsome well to do young man who gave her almost everything she wanted. She was allowed to continue school while fulfilling her wifely duties.
Joseph was a disciplinarian, a man who stood by his principles and rules. He was a man of his words. He felt a thing of attraction on sighting Pamela at the shopping mall on a fateful afternoon. Never had he felt the way he felt when he saw her. "Who is she? Where is she from? She looks like a snub though." So he didn’t get the chance to approach her on this day. He looked forward to seeing her again, so he visited the mall everyday hoping to find her again.
Destiny, some people say can be delayed but it cannot be changed.
After 2 months of anticipating, he finally had his chance after an evening service on a Sunday. Well there you go, he made his move, and she confessed to him that she knew he has been trailing her for months but she also has been waiting patiently for him to make his move too. And it all started.
Joseph and Pamela were the happiest couple in town once the Man of God declared them as Husband and Wife. They were over-joyed. Joseph couldn’t wait to be called a father, Pamela couldn’t wait to return back to school. But Pamela had a nightmare that turned out to be real.

INTERMISSION
Ariana was married to the man of her dreams. Harry, a man who knew what he wanted to. They had met few years ago at an event through a friend. Yes they were very stable in all ramifications. But didn’t allow their status deprive them of having a successful marriage which also came with pains and Joy. It is true that you do not know the true nature of person until you’ve habited with he/she for a period of time or triggered some hormones that propels the person to take or make some actions that he/she will either be grateful for forever or regret in the long run.
Ariana loved her husband so much and kids as well as but Ariana was also a career woman. So there you go.... picture it
Being a mother, wife and a career lady wrapped up in a beautiful and wonderfully made creature, trust me she had eyes on her even with the ring. Harry wasn’t as successful as his wife but it was fine by him.

But here is one fact, if a cub is found amongst birds/one day it will unleash the lion in him when he meets its peer or kind and those birds might not live to tell the story.
Ariana thought she had everything under control. Her career and family but little did she know her husband was feeding on a parasite that might end up destroying him.
“Alright honey, I’m leaving right now. I need to go supervise what the boys are doing at the site. The engineer brought new sets of boys 2days ago and they are still yet to know to handle some of the machineries” she said.
‘You really don’t have to go today’ Harry said.
'Not again' Ariana thought.
For the past few weeks they’ve been having this same argument, the last time this happened Harry had threatened her that she might have to quit working and stay home permanently. Ariana laughed over this and did not pay attention to this. But the damn man meant it. Ariana quickly had breakfast and arose to head for work but Harry held her by the wrist. She turned with a smile and tried to kiss him out of stopping her from going to work but Oopzzzz! This did not work.
Harry looked away and locked the door and demanded that Ariana returned to the room and changed into something comfortable and sweet.
No…. This was no dream. Ariana said to herself. Harry was really stopping her from going to work.
Phone rings.
A call from the Engineer he needed some information which she had.
“Hey honey, c’mon….. Okay I promise to return as soon as possible…” but she couldn’t complete the statement, she saw something she had never seen before. Another phone call as she reached the phone to pick the call, he snatched it from her. A shock on her face.
“Harry, what’s wrong? What have I done?" ....
He ignored her and headed for the room. She followed him and tried getting him to talk to her. One more attempt made and she found herself on the floor. She felt the burning sensation as she held unto her soft cheek. No! Not him too…
INTERMISSION
Pamela was enjoying every bit of the marriage but she wasn’t getting what she wanted. She really wanted to complete college, have a business of her own. Joseph wasn’t keeping to his words. She would complain every passing day but he always neglecting her.
Pamela saved some cash and applied for college and she started attending classes. She informed Joseph about it but he still didn’t show any interest.
Pamela had to stop at the market to get foodstuffs for the house. She arrived home and met Joseph sitting at the bar stand having one of his favorite drinks. She quickly ran up to him and planted a peck on his cheek and apologized for coming late.
But it was too late, he pushed her aside and yelled at her for not listening after letting her know that he wanted her to quit thinking about going to college and focus on her marriage. Pamela tried not to talk back but she was sorry. She didn’t see this coming. A punch to her face, then couple of slaps… And it just began.
The lion in Joseph had grown into a mature mammal and was devouring Pamela every passing day. Pamela would cry and scream from the punches and pains she felt after every round of wrestling. When Ariana and her younger ones tried to intervene he would descend on them too giving them no choice but to run out of the house and sleep out at night.

Pamela chose to stay back and endure the pain but she couldn’t anymore the day he flogged her with her machete leaving her almost half dead.
Pamela was a great mother, she had trained her children to be strong and dependent, and she had to leave this time. Doctors advised she started away from whoever was responsible else she will not survive.

Ariana stared at Harry from the floor where she laid, she boiled with anger and rage as flashbacks kept playing in her head. No, this was not happening. She wanted to react, fight back. Yell and curse but right in that state, she reminded herself of the promise she made to herself on the day she saw her mother walk out of the house involuntarily.
Never again will she be domestically abused by any man.
Harry didn't see it coming.
