Design and construction
Architect James Hoban
The White House is the official residence of the President of the United States. Located in Pennsylvania, D.C. Pennsylvania Avenue, this residence was established between 1792 and 1800. After John Adams, all the US presidents were in this house. The architect of this building was James Hoban, a Irish citizen. When Thomas Jefferson woke up in the White House in 1801, he expanded the front part of the building. He made two stoneworks in front of the building. [1]
During the war in 1814, the British army burned the White House in the fire, at that time the entire interior and some parts of the outside were destroyed. Almost immediately the rebuild starts. In October 1817, James Monroe took part in a partially constructed building. Meanwhile, the construction work of the building continued. In 1824, the southern part of the building and in 1829 the pillars of the north were built. In 1909, President William Howard expanded the southern part of the Taft building and was the first to establish the Oval Office. The Oval Office was later moved away elsewhere due to the expansion of the building. The third floor was prepared in 1927 in the habitable zone. For the reception of social events, a part is made in the east side of the building. Both parts were connected to the Stambassari built by Jefferson.
