Teesta barrage:
Tessta barrage is built on teesta river and the largesr irrigation project in Bangladesh.
Teesta barrage is situated in Hatiabandha upazilla of Lalmonirhat district. The river flows over the districts of Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Rangpur, kurigram and gaibandha.
The barrage is in the middle point of the river. There are four mechanical gates at one end and there are also 8 gates on the other side. There are total 44 gates. The barrage controls the water of the teesta river for irrigation in some districts of north bengal during the dry season. During the monsoon, teesta is full and flowing.
