@intrepidthinker, I guess you could call me "a old soul" when it comes to this Country. As far as I can follow the familial line it goes back and gets kinda lost in the mid 1600s. Of all things, one of the early on members of the family was sent here from England for resisting paying the tax on "Bitters". AS far as I could tell, there has been a family member in every conflict this Country has been involved in, so yeah I tend to believe that there is hope.
However, I must concede the fact that with Congressional members like "Nancy Pelosi" (Meidocre)Mitch McConnell and Lindsay Graham I have been having doubts since these kind of congress members keep getting re-elected. When Cambridge Analytica began their testing of "targeted information" and proved that using social media to influence the younger voters of this Country and of Great Brittain to "Not Vote and be Cool" getting almost half of the Younger Vote to not bother voting, I wonder how the elections would have turned out. With private corporations like the DNC, DCCC, RNC and the GOP controlling what Candidates run for office, and we allow this, I do have doubts as to the end result.
