@david777111 I know what you mean about the "Gas Tax" and where it goes. Prior to the Jarvis/Gann initiative (prop13) where the 2 old guys decimated the property taxes and schools began shutting down in CA additional taxation has been the norm. In the CA Constitution half the property taxes is supposed to go to schools and half to highways. Ca started the lottery to balance out the school situation but that was so successful that the State began syphoning off some for other stuff (highways, salaries, etc.) so that the schools are still suffering. The Gas Tax, which goes up more than any other tax, does not tever see a highway/road repair.
OPEC purchases U.S. Crude Oil then sells it back to us so the Oil Companies can continue getting subsidies from US. Make no mistake, when the Fed gives a TAX break, or Tax subsidy, WE are PAYING for it, not some magical fund the Government earns. YOUR tax dollars go to paying Big Oil and Billionaires for their tax breaks and subsidies.
OBTW, "he will come like a thief in the night" Like your article,, Take care,
