Cryptokitties was the new game on the block that time, but due to the rush for the game, it started to congest ETH chain, gas fees spiked and I think it had to be discontinued.

Since the Ronin bridge eliminates gas fees then I guess that’s a good thing. So if the game improves its scalability and they keep developing new features then I think the hype will continue for a while as it seems people really like the game.
