Evening anyone that pops by.

Weird weather day, it was 28c yesterday, and 7c today, so I had to move indoors and prepare some parts to paint. I can not paint them today, it is cold, but tomorrow is another day.

The petrol tank is off a Yamaha rd 250 from 1974 that I am restoring. I painted that over a few weeks, a few weeks ago, and some side badges arrived for it today, but sadly the holes for screws are in the wrong place.

So I am going to try them on the rd 125 from the same year I am restoring in the same colour, if that fails, oh well, back to the drawing board.

The parts I prepared to paint today, are a tzr 125 SP petrol tank, and 1978 Yamaha rd 50 m petrol tank, preparation is boring, so I will save you from images of that!.

A bonus arrived, and almost, but not quite, drew me away from the prep for paint, in the form of a piston, for a Kawasaki KE 125 from 1979, that I had been trying to find for over a year.

So yes Galenkp, some parts are hard to find. The reason it is so hard to find, is it is a piston for grand prix racing style direct crank induction, so there is no need for holes in the skirts of the piston for inlet, as it fuel/air comes in at the crank.

I fitted the yokes to the Montesa (pain in the bum) 348 cota, boy that bike tries my nerves, it is so demanding both to ride and find parts for.

And I found a new manufacturer here last week, that makes motorcycle wind shields/screens, and talked them into making me an exclusive screen for a tzr 125 4dl, so now I have a new source of income, the only supplier of them in the world. :-) Got to be in it to win it hey!.

If it stops raining, but lord only knows I appreciate it did due to owning a farm, I will pull the Ke 125 from behind 9 bikes and finish the long over due rebuild of the engine/restoration tomorrow.

Respect to you all, wishing you a superb day, and fun filled times ahead.
