Every day of our lives seems to be spent fighting pollution in some way or another. Earlier, I might not have thought much about these things, but when I gradually learned to understand them, many questions arose for myself. Where are we going? How much can this world really bear?
In the village, I grew up. I had a strong connection with nature in those days. The birds' chirping in the morning,a stroll along the canal in the afternoon all of it paints a picture of a simple, tranquil existence. However, everything the bustle of the city, the honking of automobile horns, the smoke of factories has now become a daily companion.
Pollution is actually a kind of silent enemy. Be it in the air, water, noise, or soil all types of pollution are harming our health. Children are suffering from asthma, the elderly are spending their days with palpitations. Not only people, but also plants, birds, and animals are victims of this pollution.
One day, I was walking along the road. There was a small drain nearby.Plastic bottles, food wrappers, garbage and rubbish have been dumped there. A young boy was taking water from the drain and putting it in his mouth. Seeing such a scene, it seems like how unconscious we have become!
I think we don't need to do anything big. We can start with small things. For example:
Not littering everywhere
Reducing the use of polythene
Planting a single tree near the house
Not honking the horn unnecessarily
Being aware and making others aware
The reason for writing this article is only one鈥擨 want at least one person to think a little. I myself am also slowly learning to change. I now think about the things I was indifferent to before. Because if we don't become aware now, future generations will have nothing.
The environment is ours. Therefore, we are all responsible for it. To prevent pollution, we have to change ourselves first. And that change can start today.
