The fulfillment of desires produces pleasure, joy and happiness... think of a moment in which a desire of your soul has been fulfilled and evoke the feeling you had at that moment and look for words that describe those sensations.

I did this exercise to answer galenkp@galenkp's question inspired by how I felt on many occasions when I finally achieved what I longed for, pleasure, joy and happiness always accompanied me in those experiences, that's why wishing and seeing those wishes fulfilled are a window to states of joy and harmony.

But also, when we do not achieve what we want it can lead us to feel exactly the opposite, some of the emotions I have felt when I have not fulfilled my desires are frustration and sadness, I know people who have been carried away by anger, envy, depression, among other states product of the discomfort that generated them not to achieve the desired.

So this topic of desire is very interesting because it is inherent to human nature, I believe that as human beings we are always wanting things, consciously or unconsciously we have desires, some perhaps superfluous that do not require much effort to fulfill them, and many others that involve embarking on a tremendous adventure with no guarantee for the result.

Anyway, we are always looking to fulfill a desire and when I read galenkp@galenkp's post I remembered my pending commitment to continue talking about this topic of Desires and what I learned in a workshop I recently did on this topic from the perspective of Biodanza.

In the workshop they shared with us this phrase:

Frases (1).jpg

This phrase resonated a lot with me because I realized that if something stops our desires and the inner impulse to go after them is Fear. Fear disempowers us in every way, but in desires it can truly be a stumbling block and it turns out to be like a kind of equation, if I do not express what I desire, what I want, my Being does not awaken the impulse or interest to move to respond to that restlessness of my soul.

Now, why don't I express what I desire? What are the fears I have regarding my desires?

Maybe the fear of failure, perhaps it's a very basic answer, but the starting point to realize many other things such as fear of not doing well, not being enough, not being satisfied later, being wrong and a long etcetera.

Faced with these questions I started to examine those desires that I have not fulfilled and see the fears behind them. One of my desires for a long time has been to write a book, I have felt on more than one occasion the impulse to start that adventure, even a couple of names that I have liked a lot have come to my mind, but for any silly excuse I have left it for "later" and I can realize now that it is nothing more than fear that it will not turn out well.

And how do I know it won't work out?

There is no way we can predict the future, if we base our actions believing that it will not turn out well, that we are not going to achieve it, we are the ones who block the way with our insecurities and fears, the only way is to DARE, go after that desire and then when you have the result see if it was worth it or not, in the end I think the simple fact of trying and give the best of ourselves is already worthy and worthy of our recognition with standing applause for having had the courage to take the step.

And you? do you recognize when fear has stopped you from achieving any of your desires?

I read you attentively in the comments

Thank you for following me here, I send you a hug full of good vibes. See you next weekend.
