Heavy cloud formations change an empty space into something full of atmospheric drama.
The arrival of the storm clouds leaves behind just a thin strip of warm evening glow that hangs near the horizon and provides a striking contrast between dark blues above and pastel tones below.
In the first picture, large grey clouds fill most of the sky. Below this thick layer of clouds, there is a clean treeline that is silhouetted against the gradient from orange to soft blue colors.
The second picture features an open space in order to show the size of the cloudy sky above. Dark clouds swirl around in the top half of the picture while there is a thin streak of warm glow near the horizon.
