Finally, our home is ready to receive the Christmas holidays. I see that many of you already decorated your homes. There are those who will not do it at all and also those who will decorate their homes and trees later. In fact, my family used to decorate the Christmas tree on December 24, never before. The ornaments were put into the boxes again on January 5 or 6. So short time, compared to the time we see around the Xmas decorations nowadays. But, I think it was then a special feeling for us children, as the ambience was different and more festive in the home.
I am somehow balancing between these traditions and I hope that I am not too late and not too early. I set up the Christmas tree just yesterday and found the decorations. I don't have some special and beautiful ornaments, but still they are coming today in this post, as my entry to the initiative that lasts during December, here in the Hive Collectors community. I even made a little video, and there will be some magic silliness. {It seems I can't upload it today in this post as there are some issues with the video uploads. I will try to do it tomorrow or when it works.}
As I mentioned, the ornaments I have are not so special or old, as those my mother and grandmother had. Those were fragile and we had to be very careful not to break them. Also, I had three glass angels that are not here with me in Spain. Instead, several small glass figurines decorate the branches of our tree. They are also nice. Here I made a little collage of glass ornaments, bells, birds and angels. And a "golden" guest angel who plays the flute. (there are two angels who play the flute and two who play the violin)

To add to this humble collection of Christmas ornaments and baubles, recently I bought a few cute adornments. A white snowman standing on a bell, a red tree made of felt, one red bell and an angel girl in a dark blue dress who is skiing.

This mug for hot chocolate, tea or coffee for the lazy mornings was a gift from one student, Alex. On the other side of the mug, there is a Santa Claus, but I want to show you this winking reindeer.
A table cover that I obviously use just on these occasions, when the holidays are approaching. It is suitable for a smaller, coffee table.
My son's Christmas stocking is right now empty. 😱
The tradition is that on December 6, Saint Nicholas brings some little sweets to the children. Usually, Saint Nicholas leaves a few tangerines or chocolate in the boots, but sometimes he gets confused and leaves the gifts in this stocking. Well, December 6 had already passed and the chocolate that he brought was found. 😁
My mom gave me these nice hand towels. I still save them new, unused. Towels are to be used, I know, but I keep them as a gift, a memory.
My aunt gave me this snowman maybe when I was studying or the next year after I finished my studies. She was living in Norway and brought this doll from there. How lucky this snowman is, he doesn't get wrinkles around his eyes. 😆
Some similar dolls, a snowman and a reindeer were a gift from another student of mine, Siri. Her mother had a shop for home accessories and decoration. Well, one day around Christmas she arrived at her piano lesson with these two guys, as a gift.
Believe it or not, this star-shaped box hides a collection of beer bottle caps that my son used to collect. No, he doesn't drink beer, but he used to find or get those caps. Maybe one day this collection will be presented. Now, it is the box which is interesting, with its winter landscape.
So, dear Hive collectors, have you found your Christmas ornaments?
You know, if you would like to show us your collection of items that you use to decorate your home for Christmas, feel free to bring it to the Hive Collectors. Here is the invitation, just in case you haven't seen it. 😉
