Sitting by the huge hotel window overlooking the sea this morning, I saw a post in my feed on Hive. Actually, I was taking my morning coffee before my gig in that hotel and had no plans to write any post today but the challenge I saw was interesting enough to make me get back to it later and check it well. The Ocean Lovers community has a new topic for this week, the fourth in a row, and it is:
Wk4 Best ocean photo! Choose a spectacular ocean photo from your archive and tell us about when it was taken.

My rational thoughts were asking me: What are you doing? You are not even a photographer to have a good (let alone spectacular) photo of the ocean, and the pictures you had of the ocean taken in January of 2023 were already shared on Hive. Then my other thoughts, those that are not so rational, fought back: You can find those photos you didn't share...
Only if I knew what a challenge it would be to find! 😂
Anyway, I listened to these thoughts and made myself search for the photos from that trip we made in southern Spain and Portugal three years ago, and found, as expected, almost nothing!
Well, three photos that I haven't shared are more than none! 😁
They still don't meet the requirement of being spectacular, I know.
What makes this first one special for me is that it was my first time meeting Mrs Ocean, as I called her in this post. The day was very cloudy. Everything looked gloomy, just not our hearts, which were beating at a happy pace in this place where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet. In case you are wondering who the people are in the photo, I can reveal that huge secret: it is me with my son, in Punta de Tarifa, the southernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula.
Let's leave behind the cloudy skies and move to the sunny part of the post. We also moved our place, as the next photo was taken a few days later in Portugal, in the mecca for surfers - Nazaré.
I haven't shared this photo when I made my post Nazaré as the model is not so pretty, but the background is what matters here. The ocean.
Which word would I choose if I had to describe it in one word? Immense, powerful, scary, lovely, beautiful, sublime, salty, fragrant, deep, harmonic with its sound?
Probably, it is not even the word that matters. The photo can justify itself by showing how tiny and microscopic we humans can be in the face of such a huge force as this blue blanket.
