Reppin' them forest, when you see them you know everything...
One of the places I've visited during recent vacation was nature reserve Wąwóz Lipa (Lipa Gulch?). I've been to places that were said to be habitats of fire salamander, however it was like "oh, I've seen three salamanders, that's nice". However this place was crawling with them. You can't make a step and not incite some movement of yellow spots on the moss, between ferns, moving leaves and trying to hide below fallen tree trunk. Possibly the weather had something to do with it, as I've read they like to walk out in the open when it is wet.
These fellas can be quite fast, at least fast enough to cause problems with taking photos, especially in darker areas of the forest.
Thankfully some just seem to not care about human presence and were ok with posing for pictures.
You can feel delicate bones of the frog, they are also slimy, toads are heavy and muscular. Compared to that salamanders are like rubber toys. Don't worry, I did not squeeze them, but they can be "encouraged" to climb on your hand.
