My first encounter with nest fungus.

My experience of the recent eclipse.

Bees are busy. They seem to disregard the surroundings, WORK WORK WORK is all they care about. At times it puts them in the path of danger. I've observed one such event recently.

Supplementation for my last mushroom post - this time a set of caps on legs, mushrooms of classic look.

Museums, churches and whatnot are not really my thing. For vacation in Barycz Valley, I'd very much prefer to spend a day kayaking on Barycz River. But the weather forecast was awful.

Presentation of a specimen of Kozioróg Dębosz (great capricorn beetle) and the damage its larvae do to the trees.

Since I've returned from vacation I have a lot of material to publish. Hopefully momentum will carry me through it all. Apparently it will be my first mushroom post this year - how the time flies.

About dragonfly that I've finally managed to photograph from up close.

Mantis religiosa or a praying mantis is a big, predatory, green insect. I've seen my first one when I was on vacation on Hvar (Croatia) over two decades ago, and then nothing.

I saw @melinda010100 post announcing interesting contest so here I am. Since the challenge for #redphotoessay2025 said I need to post at least 5 photos, I don't need to limit myself, right?

Recently for the first time this year I found myself outside when it was still light and not while walking to office or shopping. In fact, somewhat surprisingly, I got to visit a lake.

I've got this video since last week, but I kept it for later in the browser tab and only recently had a time to actually watch it. It's not mine, so I'm declining rewards, but I have to share it.

Back in the days (damn, that stung, am I getting old?) November was a month when you could expect snow from the start. At the very least my memories of All Soul's Days from decades ago include wet snow

The last part of weekend mushroom hunting. Winter is coming, so mushrooms will also go to deep sleep and hidden growth.

Hello there, fellow mushroom hunters. This is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw. Third consecutive "Saturday two weeks ago", still in the same forest.

So here I am talking again about Saturday two weeks ago, although it is the Saturday next to the one I was talking about last time :o)

On Saturday two weeks ago I went for a short stroll into the forest. It was already pretty late, well past 16 PM, but the weather was nice and I thought I'll at least take some pictures.

Last Saturday I finally found time and will for some stroll in the forest. It was two days after cloudburst that turned some of the streets in the city into rivers.

I'd like to request / propose a trivial yet impactful change with voting for posts.

I've been stationed in village Ciche. As the name suggests ("calm"/"silent"), there was not much traffic. Since it was after the season, there was not too many tourists.
