In my personal opinion and what lots of other people believe, is that Jeremy Fitzergerald was the victim of the bite of 87’ (1987) and that the 7 foot tall broken animatronic referred to by the guards as “mangle” or “the mangle” is responsible for the incident. As we know by looking at the paycheck awarded to Jeremy at the end of all 5 nights, the events of the game take place in 1987 which is the same year in which the bite of 87’ takes place in. On the fifth night, phone guy explains to Jeremy via a pre-recorded message that after his 6AM shift he will be responsible for the day shift in which the possibly last birthday at the pizzarea because the place was scheduled to close down soon and move to a smaller location. The bite of 87’ caused the victim whom I believe to be Jeremy to lose their frontal lobe as can be heard in a recording, the next location’s night guard is told by a different phone guy about the incident and the phone guy says “it’s amazing that the human body can survive without the frontal lobe” which is the lobe that controls all emotions, this proves that mangle is the main suspect because the withered animatronics were locked away at the time of the incident and none of the toy animatronics would have any intentions to attack Jeremy, also from Mangle’s jump scare animation you can see her mouth biting onto your forehead, which is where the frontal lobe is located. This also proves that the Jeremy from Help Wanted is completely different from Jeremy Fitzergerald as he is seen showing signs of discomfort and fear several times.
