Finally back to Tokyo and Yokohama

During our long trip, we went to Takayama, Kyoto, Hakodate, Sapporo and finally Tokyo.

As I have already mentioned in my previous posts, traveling with a toddler is extremely challenging especially in snow.
So, it was kind of mixed feelings we had, fun, tiring, exciting, cold and challenging.

After different locations in Japan, we have now finally back to Tokyo.

hello tokyo and the sun

I have been to Tokyo & Yokohama so many times, soball the tourist attractions were not interesting to me anymore. We wanted to try more local places other than tourist attractions.

There is a place called Ohguchi which is not popular among tourists. We knew that place because of My wife. She used to stay near Koyasu station while she was working in Japan, and she used to shop there. It is a very small local market with nice shops.
Please take note that you will need a little bit of Japanese speaking skills in order to buy there. But I believe it's easier to communicate now with the help of smart phones.

We went there mainly because of this bbq shop. Luckily, there were two Sri Lankans working at the shop, so that we were able to order our food in English.
The bbq there was quite delicious and reasonably priced, so lot of passersby stopped there to buy from the shop.

this is location of the shop,

After that, there came regular tourist attractions like Mt.Fuji, Ueno, Shinjuku etc. Actually, we spent most of our time in Yokohama area then Tokyo.
As for Mt.Fuji, since it was winter, the highest we could go was fifth station or something. So, we went to Yamanakako lake which was one of the famous lake around Mt.Fuji. We went there all by ourselves, took the train to Gotemba, and then took bus from Gotemba station to the lake. A round ticket to Yamanakako lake can be bought at the ticket booth outside the station.

The best thing on our trip to Lake Yamanakako was the weather. It was so nice that every picture we took was so beautiful. If you find the different way, it's because of my photography skills, not the weather, okay? 😄 We spent like two, three hours around there before we finally decided to go back because it would be so dark if we had stayed longer and won't be able to enjoy the view anymore because the bus ride to and from Lake Yamanakako was so nice, we really enjoyed the scenery along the way.

Kawasaki and Tusumi area were the places we hanged out the most before we finally packed up for our return trip. In total, it was 15 days in Japan, so our 14 days JR Ticket wasn't able to cover the last day. But, no worries, our airport was Haneda which was much nearer to the city than Narita, so our way back to airport was smooth.

Wow, what a journey. I can't believe I have now finally reached to the end of my japan trip blog series. I really hope you enjoy them. At least, I hope It is entertaining for the readers even if it is not informative.

Even though, this is the last post for the Japan trip, it is not the end of my writing. More and more posts will be coming to you. So, please stay tuned and make sure to follow me in Steemit so that you won't miss my future posts.

For now, good bye....
