Firstly, let me start by appreciating kenechukwu97@kenechukwu97 for this challenge. It really made me have a sober reflection about myself and see aspects where I need to work on. Right now, I have gotten ideas on what to do and how to work on myself to become the best version of myself.

Growing up, I used to be this jovial girl. I played around with my friends. I was always the only girl among them because, I loved playing football then. I also played hide-and-seek and it was usually fun.

To me, life then was really perfect; I had all I needed and all the fun in the whole world. Lol.

But, everything changed when we had a loss in our family. It was my mom. Her departure from this world crushed me so much that I found it hard to speak for myself. So, even when someone was mistreating me, I'll just keep quiet, shedding secret tears. Many times, I was told that I wasn't good enough and I would never be good enough.

As a result, I lost total confidence in myself and would always be seen at a spot, afraid of the unknown. I couldn't do anything with fear. Whenever I was asked to do something, I did it in fear. You would see my hands trembling, it was so bad.

As I grew, I joined some group of friends who helped me overcome such mindset. They made me believe in myself.

Because of my passion for little children, I chose to go into teaching. I became a teacher and there, I saw children battling with the same mindset that I once had.

Some of them, they had such mindset about themselves because of what their parents said to them. It gave me a lot of concern.

I took a deep breath while reflecting on this. I got to realize that I still have a limiting belief about myself some times and it gives me a lot of concern. So, I got ideas on how to help myself become better.

The first idea was on Meditation and Awareness.
To understand the root cause of all these, I reflected on the root cause of my insecurities. This way, I am now fully aware of what makes me insecure. So, when next such thought arises, I know how to silence them. The things that happened in the past, are left in the past. I see no reason why I should let the past decide for me, how to live my present and future.

Next, I decided I will always seek for support from people around me. Since people are willing to help, why do I have to stay on my own? So, I have decided to accept help and support from others. This way, I feel among people and not think low of myself.

Also, I'm learning to embrace imperfection. It's okay not to have all the answers. Life requires growth and continuous learning. I understand now that mistakes are opportunities for improvement and not for one to reflect on inadequacy.

Rather that judging myself, I am learning to practice self-compassion. I am beginning to treat myself with so much love - because I deserve it, and also I'm willing to give out love to others around me.

Every little achievement I make is worth celebrating. And, I'm getting excited to celebrate my wins, no matter how little they may be.

With a renewed mindset, I look forward to changing the world.
