I agree with much of what you say here, although I'd also add that individuality and the collective work together to advance our evolution. If we swing too much to the other side and stifle individuality, we squash the voice of individuals who could move the collective forward. Sometimes we divide and conquer by getting the collective to exclude the individual thinker.
