Same or Different?

From a guy that's been engaging in proof of brain for about a year and Blurt for more than a year I have noticed some similarities and some differences between Blurt and VYB. When a proposal from the community in proof of brain to get rid of the downvote policy failed the community offered vyb (verify your brain). This token has similar tokenomics to pob but it also has a governing body to handle changes and demands of the community. I trust the developers and governance.

Origins

Blurt was forked from Steemit to create an entirely new blockchain with no downvote. In doing this, Blurt also inherited some of the characteristics of Steemit's blockchain. Blurt basically runs on a proof of stake model with several front ends and a variety of witnesses operating nodes. Blurt did really well and overcame obstacles and attacks. It is a strong blockchain community, but it's not perfect. I guess no one in the world can find consensus on anything these days. The same goes for Blurt finding consensus to something about self votes and perhaps some other issues.

VYB has a clear policy about self voting and other governance issues. Maybe for some VYB has too many rules but all of these rules are crystal clear on the blockchain. Nothing is hidden behind doors. When I look at Blurt there are a lot of developments in a short time. VYB doesn't have that same development but VYB is not stagnant either. What vyb has is a foundation. From the white paper to the vyb curation and vyb hub there is clear transparency in the vyb project.

Performance

VYB didn't boom like Blurt. One year ago Blurt was less than half a cent. The front end was down several times and users could not upload pictures. This was okay to the community who found friends and rewards. Then things got fixed up and pretty. The price also went close to 4 cents. I'd love to see Blurt go over 10 cents but not at the cost of the pioneering spirit and connections in the community. I applaud Blurt in providing a safe environment for free speech without down votes. I believe the community can continue to grow and develop to bring more than free speech but also water and energy and power to many places in the world that would never have a chance without Blurt.

VYB will boom and when it does there will be a foundation of support to deal with pressing issues. It may be a few months or a year or two and when it happens this community will be ready. Until then VYB remains interwoven in the Hive. It is part of Hive and at the same time unique with the ability to reward and encourage and built up.

Potential

Both Blurt and VYB are special in allowing free speech and a platform for all to come and say what is on their mind. VYB is very young and we are learning from the hardships that others faced before us. Honestly I loved watching my Blurt account increase 6 times due to rewards from interactions and posts over the past years. I saw an account worth a couple hundred dollars increase to over ten thousand dollars. It never seemed possible, but it was happening and I really hope Blurt continues to grow.

VYB didn't even exist four months ago. It was more of a dream. People joked about VYB saying, "Just go to Blurt." But Blurt was never a joke and VYB was more like a dream. One night the POB I worked so hard for was now returned double to me in VYB. Everything was transparent and clear. That was the beauty and invention of VYB. Those who selflessly engaged in the POB community were rewarded. I had experienced the highs of POB and enjoyed it. Of course I was moved by one who would repeat from time to time "10,000. Go 10,000 POB!!" It looked like a distant dream to stake 10,000 POB when POB was close to selling at 1 Hive. I also received almost a full airdrop of VYB. Since then I was able to buy VYB and stake VYB almost double of what was dropped. The coolest thing is that my stake can be used to reward others. It makes a noticeable difference in VYB.

Not only I, but anyone can get a pretty good portion of vyb through interactions, contests and posting in the front end. The guys behind the scenes never give up because they believe in the idea of freedom behind VYB. The community is willing to learn, review and react to what the numbers say. Curation data is posted and it is pretty to easy to see where the votes are going. They are distributed to those who participate and produce quality posts. This transparency and unbiased view makes up a major part of the vyb community to me.

Give peace a chance

Each individual in the community and their actions influence each other. What most people want is a place where they can interact in harmony and peace without a lot of bull shit. What I want is a place I can write about school and write my silly stories and thoughts freely.

I'd like some peace to develop creatively and find exactly how I can be most useful in the place I am with the resources I have. It is difficult if witnesses and whales are fighting for a creator to keep his or her mind straight and keep morale. It is even more difficult to recommend a place to a friend when there are still a lot of kinks to work out.

I was never a fan of Yoko Ono, but this song is so irritatingly filled with truth. A phrase repeated in many of John's songs:

"Come together. All together."

Call me an idealist, but I think we really can all get along, even if we don't agree on everything.
