Well, aren't you gonna ask me what was in his hands?

... It was a frog.

His mom (my grandma) says, "Hey Tony, Why don't you take that frog to zoo. Just get it out of the house."

Tony, "Yes mom. I'll take it to the zoo." He turns straight back around and goes out the door with his hands sticking out in front of him and the frog in his hand.

Three hours later he comes back in the door with hands sticking out again.

Well, aren't you gonna ask me what was in his hands this time?

It was the frog.

My Grandma takes one look at that frog and says,
"TONY, DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO TAKE THAT FROG OUT?"

My uncle Tony answers, "I did Mama...

And we had such a good time I'm taking her out to the movies tonight."

Gae-cheon = tiny mountain stream
es-eo = from
yong = dragon
nan-da = appears

Literally => A dragon appears from a tiny stream.

In the orient a dragon is a great creature of blessing. All the stories about dragons talk about them coming from the depths of the sea. There are no stories about dragons coming from shallow mountain streams.

When someone says, "Gae-cheon-es-eo yong nan-da" or "here is a dragon from a tiny stream", it means that a great human being has arisen from among very humble circumstances. Just as unexpected and astonishing as it is to see a dragon rising from a tiny stream so is a great man or woman with humble beginnings.

Hi @chincoculbert,

When I see a lot of replies on my posts I get nervous and think I have to make a better post every time. Screw that. POB is filled with regular people that will continue to support and encourage and help each other reach their goals. I want to spend more time in art and education and make short videos but there is something blocking me. Mostly a time constraint but more than that it is the guts to start.

This post is about Korea as Korean as I get and the next post about Jongkak kimchi is Korean as well. What kind of things were you interested in about Korea? Most of it can already be searched, but not my messed up experiences. There is a cool meercat cafe I may visit in our neighborhood. They let you play with kangaroo and other freaky mammals. I prefer dancing with humans not other mammals. Korea is endless but I have work to do and not much time to party.
