It's funny how our mind plays tricks on us...

I don't know about you but it happens to me a lot. And I usually end up being on the losing side.

The plan was simple. Really simple....All I had to do was to press that power-down button on Steem when it was obvious that there's no turning back, -which I did- and every Monday midnight send the weekly payment to an exchange, convert it to BTC and buy as much HIVE as I could.

For the first 5 or 6 weeks at least, and then week after week I could diversify a little and purchase some more of what I think has potential to perform well during a future bull run.

I mean what can go wrong?

When the first payment was liquefied, I just followed the plan. Sold all of it and bought HIVE And what a bargain that was. 1 STEEM / 1.6 HIVE.

All of our Hive stake was airdropped, but that doesn't mean that one should stay on the sidelines and watch. Besides my decision was final. I wasn't going to go back on Steem, so why not invest more in HIVE?

So back to...how our mind plays tricks on us part.

All I had to do was to stick with the plan, right. Week after week.

But then I started thinking these conspiracy theories...that Justin won't just sit back and enjoy the view. He's just too stubborn and too rich to let HIVE outperform Steem.

So what if he's plan was to start dumping his Hive tokens periodically...

we do know that he's holding at least 3.2 million Hive

...every time Hive was about to go up? He could use those funds to buy back these massive amounts of Steem the ex-Steem community dumps every week. No?

I should have stick to the plan...

So I decided that it would be wise to wait...hence I didn't sell any Steem for the next 4 weeks in a row.

Why not be benefited from this situation, if that's what he was planning? It's one thing to kill your Steem as fast as you possibly can and another to be able to make some profits...right?

So I waited...and when the time was right...BANG. Gotcha. Silly me....

Because real opportunities are rare...and they are not waiting anyone.

Just like that, HIVE went beast mode and within 48 hours it's recording massive profits. 700% up is a big deal...

Why am I saying all these? Because I have a feeling that there will be a correction soon. More likely when Huobi's initiative is over, aka 28 / 29 April. Things will cool off and price might return to the previous levels...it might note but that's usually the case after a big listing.

And I keep thinking that those 20K Steem sitting on the exchanges could have been traded for 30- 32K HIVE.

Those 32K Hive could have been sold at 55 cents...only to buy back in when things settle down at 0.15? 0.20? whatever....Perfect way to grow one's account by doing...nothing...just stick to the plan...

A couple of right decisions and a couple of good trades can make a huge difference...HUGE.

It's one thing to hold 20K Steem...and trying to predict what Justin’s next move would be and another to be able to possibly have +100K HIVE...

Anyway...I just had to tell this story to you so that you don't make the same mistakes I did.

Always stick with your plan.

Always.

Have a good one people and stay safe.

Cheers.
