Every time there's a school shooting making headlines, social media becomes inundated with people regurgitating the same anti-gun rhetoric they've been spewing for years.
They say things like, "Look at this long list of other countries that also have mentally ill people but don't have a mass shooting problem. You know the difference? They have gun control.". Sure, those countries have gun control, but some perceived lack of gun control isn't what's causing our problem. The real difference between ourselves and the rest of those countries is culture. We are the biggest bunch of finger-pointing, 'take no personal responsibility for anything', self-absorbed, entitled pricks on this planet. Sociopathy is a cultural norm for us. THAT is our problem. THAT is what is ultimately responsible for our current situation.
If you've failed to recognize this while you've been too busy pointing fingers at inanimate objects, then you should know that you are part of the problem. Every time you go on social media regurgitating that horseshit, the rest of us who do recognize the problem are shaking our heads in shame and are embarrassed of and for you. You should know that what you are asking for isn't going to solve any of our problems, but rather will compound them exponentially.
Whether pro gun control or pro gun rights, none of us want our children getting shot up in school, or anywhere else for that matter. It should be obvious to all involved that we share a common objective. It should also be obvious that you don't go about working with others to achieve common objectives by pointing fingers at each other and perpetuating division. If you genuinely want to do something about the problem instead of just deflecting any personal responsibility away from yourself, your going to need to look yourself in the mirror, be honest with yourself, take some responsibility for yourself and your fellow countrymen, and rethink your approach.
