Hey there Steemians. Been really busy these days, I actually tried several times to create this post, but something always came up in the way. But here I am now, and I'd like to present you another one of my art works that was part of the Danish exhibition in 2012 :)
Green Flowers
Engraving oil painting. Size: 70x50 cm
Story
This is not just an oil painting, it's engraved. While I was studying different painting techniques, a friend of mine (that was also studying art) invited me to go to the Visual Art university in Iasi, Romania, and use a huuuuge metal machine, where we could create 3D-ish paintings by using a matrice and a wet paper filled with fresh colored oils. Those two had to be overlapped, while we pressed a huge metal roll on top of them. The paper was then modeled by the matrice, and that's how you got the 3D shapes and the mix of oils. Well, because it was my first time, she was expecting that I will bring a small matrice as a test, but in fact, I worked all previous night and created a big almost-one-meter-high matrice. I knew that might be the only time I use that ancient metal machine, so why not get the best out of it? :)
About the theme: I wasn't actually into plants and flowers at that time, but wanted to pick a totally different subject, instead of the usual portraits, hands, people etc. Flowers and plants can be modelled in almost any shape you want, and they can still look pretty.
Sketches
Here are a few last sketches, focused mainly on portrait and croquis.

I think this is going to be the last painting from this series. If you stay tuned, I will present you a new series of more recent ones, with quite a different style and technique - tam tam ta da daaaaam - paper art! See you soon and wish you Happy Steeming.
