I wonder about the
word ‘intensity’ a lot.
When I was younger,
my knowledge of
emotional ranges was
much limited
(I still have a lot to learn) &
I always thought that anger
was the closest that exemplified it.

Growing up, I’ve met a few people
who showed me what
intense could really mean.
I have experienced it
in love, passion,
ambition,and grief.

As the days go by,
I’m beginning to learn
that ‘intense’ could
also be a way of life.

The apprehension I carry
with this choice is that it
brings me everything in
excess & extremes.

Insanity is part and parcel
of this decision & I feel prone
to being a misfit.

When I fall- for people,
places, ideas or out
of mistrust, I don’t fall.
I crash & burn.

However, I’ve done this
a few times now and
I must admit,
I’d buy this ticket & take the ride.
