where I was fearless⠀
and I deserved better than that.⠀

So here's the thing—love isn't perfect, or equal, or easy. Sometimes you give more. Sometimes you're low and your person gives to you. Sometimes you feel as if you've found your forever, and sometimes that connection fades and you have to fight to bring it back. Sometimes love hurts, but it should never be abusive. Sometimes it's a challenge to give your soul to another imperfect person, but it's beautiful nonetheless, even if we end up with broken hearts.⠀

What we need to remember, though, is that we should be with people who value us. If you're jumping in headfirst, your other person should meet you halfway. If you're giving your everything, they should give themselves in return. They should be just as willing, just as fearless. ⠀

They won't be perfect, but they'll still want to love you with the entirety of their beings—as you do the same right back.⠀

Neither of you are going to have it all figured out, or be the best people in the world all the time. But you both care, you're both filled with passion, you both fight for one another. ⠀

Don't settle for someone who treats you as if you're replaceable or ordinary. Don't stay in a relationship with someone who hurts you, physically or mentally. Don't waste time loving someone who sees you as a body, or a temporary, or a placeholder.⠀

Love isn't the answer to everything, and it isn't everything—but it's so damn incredible—with the right person.⠀

So fight for the love you're worthy of, and fight to be a person who is deserving of that love. And when you find it, love your person fully, and fearlessly, as they do the same.⠀
