What really is the plural form of cactus? Cactuses or cacti? I always knew that it's cacti although to be honest cactus sounds more plural than singular, haha. 🙊
Since I was curious and wanted to make it sure, I had to do a bit of research/reading. And hoping that I have read a reliable information.
Apparently, cacti is a Latin plural for cactus but in English plural it's cactuses. So whichever word we use, it is ok and acceptable. Cacti is commonly used though, so we may get a stare when someone judgemental hears us. 🙉 Oh, well...
This got me thinking, is one octopus, octopi? Or one walrus, walri? 😅🤣✌
Anyway, I think they're lovely even with those spines. I know, they're not pleasant at all. I've been pricked many times, that I learned to just gaze at them in awe. They look so unique aren't they? Just like succulents.
Did you know that cacti are succulents? Well, they look similar, don't they? But although they are succulents, apparently, not all succulents are cacti. To be honest, I can't tell them apart. 😅
Inside the botanical garden is this special place where cacti and maybe succulents are displayed. They look like they're for sale and I didn't ask because I had no plans to purchase any. I'd love to but I will definitely feel bad if again for the "_th" time, I will fail.

Yes, because I couldn't resist them, I tried looking after one, after another and after a while, I lost them one by one, by one. Hmm, maybe they just don't live forever. What am I thinking?! 😛 Have you tried looking after these unique plants and successful?
When I feel braver and ready, I will try again. I need to learn how to keep them so they will last longer. Here are more cacti varieties...I love it when they're flowering. Those flowers definitely add life to them. 💗💕💕
Aren't they lovely? If you were me, have you resisted purchasing any or some? Another reason I didn't get any is because these cacti are flourishing in the highlands. I considered how they're going to handle the temperature in the lowlands. When I'm ready, maybe I can find some here in the lowlands. 😊
