Life of a roomie is a journey of various traning sessions. You learn different things everyday, you tolerate each other's excesses and stand by each other. So I want to use this medium to tell you about my roommate because it's her birthday today.
First I will like to say a super happy birthday to such an amazing roommate. One with an amazing character and an enviable personality. Now let me take you down memory lane.
I met her in 2011, when I came for my basic program(predegree). We got talking and from there became friends. Usually move to her place during basic exams and she visits as well. We became close friend and when we resumed to sch cos we got the admission, she got PLANT SCIENCE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY while I got PHYSICS WITH ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY.
Due to our differences in courses and department our relationship diminished cos we really see each other. 4 years down the line we baca me room mates and it's so amazing what I learnt about her.
I came to the realization that distance in friendship maintains the respect between the individuals, but when you come together to stay then you have to be accommodating.
Leaving with her helped me learn how to leave with other people like when I get married and my husband's relatives have to visit.
I learnt to be patient with people and not hold grudges cos provocation is inevitable.
I also learnt to accommodate other tribes and there culture like what they eat and all that.
Though living with a roommate can be stressful and inconvenient but it also helps bring out your true personality and teaches you how to manage people.
