Hi friends! How are they doing? Around here very well, with very good company from Fabi my partner and our pets: Root and Smokie, the cats, and Kai the dog. This post is dedicated to the three of them. I am going to tell you the story of how each one of them came into our lives, what they are like and everything they bring to our lives.

When we first arrived in this neighborhood, only Fabi and I were in the house, which was very quiet and more than once we chatted and had the intention of adopting a pet but for some reason or another we never did and we kept putting off the plan.

Until one night in November last year, I heard some meows as if asking for food, (ahh yes, cats have a meow for every occasion, I can assure you), so I went out to the patio and there was the one that today is our Root, beautiful cat of about a year but very skinny, dirty and abused.

I did not hesitate to approach with a plate of lentil stew that she had left at noon and she devoured it in a second, she was starving !! After a while after she ate, she drank some water and disappeared. I tell you a curious fact about cats, they communicate with meows, but it is only to communicate with humans.

The next night she came again, I gave her food again and she left again. But the next day when she came back I spoke to her, I told her that if she wanted to stay in this house it was welcome, that she will not lack water, food, or veterinary assistance, and above all she will never lack love . And she that night she stayed, like the rest of the nights. She began to gain weight, her hair became beautiful, she and she began to sleep with her belly up, I love that pose so cats when they sleep peacefully.

Everything was going well until one afternoon a gray kitten appears in the yard. And she did not hesitate to go into the house to eat Raíz's food, another hungry kitten, of course we gave her a portion that she ate in the blink of an eye. That night and the others she stayed to sleep, which Raíz did not like too much and she soon showed us the feeling of her staying outside the house, or instead of sleeping in our bed, she went to sleep at the hers.

With smokie, that's how we put this gray earthquake, we waited a few days for a neighbor to come to complain, because he's small, and in fact that's how it happened, one afternoon he came home from work and Smokie was gone, they had come to look for him, I He had a sadness, but he understood that it was not ours, that he had escaped. With Raíz we did not expect that, she surely left her house looking to be better and she found us being "new parents".

It turns out that that afternoon I had to go out to run an errand, and when I returned, Smokie was eating on his plate, a tremendous emotion invaded me !! He was showing me that he had also chosen us as his adoptive parents, and of course, the neighbors did not come to claim their kitten anymore, if it escapes them all the time, and here that does not happen because they are all free animals, then something happened in that house that he did not like, he did not feel comfortable, because the energies are felt and they perceive them even more.

They already accept each other and even sleep together

Finally we have our new but not so new member of the family, it turns out that a neighbor adopted him when he was little, so he was always by our house, but visiting, and when we could we gave him some water and food .

Kai when he was a puppy

Until the neighbor was left without work and could not give him any more to eat, he began to leave him alone because he had to go out to look for work in other places and well, now Kai is part of our family, here he will not lack love, shelter, food and veterinary. You have to educate him a bit, because he is not very obedient, but he is a cross of a German Shepherd dog and those dogs are very intelligent, like Kai, only sometimes he plays dumb!

Soon we will have to go through the scalpel to be able to castrate the males that have not yet been neutered, Smokie is still a small cat, although he is probably 6 months old and Kai is a puppy, he is only one year old, but neither of them is going to save. Root has already gone through that and she took it very well !!

The three respect each other and live in harmony, although Smokie is a teenager with revolutionized hormones and does not leave Raíz alone, he wants to play all the time, he bites her, scratches her, slaps him, throws himself on him, it's terrible ! And the best thing is that when we challenge him, he runs to the bathroom, as if he knows that he is going to go to penance. They look like children ... and they know everything, when we pamper them as when we educate them, with my partner we appreciate having such loyal and good pets.

Hola amigos! ¿Qué tal andan? Por aquí muy bien, con muy buena compañía de Fabi mi compañero y nuestras mascotas: Raíz y Humito, los gatos, y Kai el perro. Este post va dedicado a ellos tres. Les voy a contar la historia de cómo llegaron a nuestras vidas cada uno de ellos, cómo son y todo lo que aportan a nuestras vidas.

Fabi y yo

Cuando recién llegamos a este barrio, estábamos sólo Fabi y yo en la casa, lo que era muy silenciosa y más de una vez charlamos y tuvimos la intención de adoptar alguna mascota pero por alguna u otra razón nunca lo hacíamos y seguíamos postergando el plan.

Raíz nuestra gata

Hasta que una noche de noviembre del año pasado, escuché unos maullidos como pidiendo comida,(ahh si, los gatos tienen un maullido para cada ocasión, lo puedo asegurar), asique salí al patio y allí estaba la que hoy es nuestra Raíz, hermosa gata de aproximadamente un año pero muy flaca, sucia y maltratada.

Durmiendo plácidamente

No dudé en acercarme con un plato de guiso de lentejas que había quedado del mediodía y se lo devoró en un segundo, estaba muerta de hambre!! Al ratito que comió, tomó agua y desapareció. Les cuento un dato curioso de los gatos ellos se comunican con maullidos, pero sólo es para comunicarse con los humanos.

Así estaba cuando llegó, ahora tiene unos kilos más

A la noche siguiente volvió a venir, le volví a dar comida y se volvió a ir. Pero al próximo día cuando volvió a venir le hablé, le dije que si ella quería quedarse en esta casa era bienvenida, que no le va a faltar ni agua, ni comida, ni asistencia veterinaria, y por sobre todo nunca le va a faltar amor. Y esa noche se quedó, como el resto de las noches. Empezó a engordar, el pelo se le puso hermoso, ya empezaba a dormir con la panza para arriba, amo esa pose tan de los gatos cuando duermen plácidamente.

Humito cuando llegó a nuestra casa

Todo venía bien hasta que una tarde aparece un gatito gris en el patio. Y no dudó en meterse a la casa a comer la comida de Raíz, otro gatito con hambre, claro que le dimos una ración que se la comió en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Esa noche y las demás se quedó a dormir, lo que a Raíz no le gustó demasiado y no tardó en demostrarnos su sentimiento quedándose afuera de la casa, o en vez de dormir en nuestra cama, se iba a dormir a la suya.

Con Humito, así le pusimos a este terremoto color gris, esperamos unos días a que venga algún vecino a reclamar, porque es chiquito, y en efecto así sucedió, una tarde llegue del trabajo y Humito ya no estaba, habían venido a buscarlo, yo tenía una tristeza, pero entendía que no era nuestro, que se había escapado. Con Raíz no esperábamos eso, ella seguro se fue de su casa buscando estar mejor y nos encontró a nosotros siendo "padres primerizos".

Resulta que esa tarde tuve que salir para hacer un mandado, y cuando regresé estaba Humito comiendo en su platito, me invadió una emoción tremenda!! Él me estaba demostrando que también nos había elegido como sus papás adoptivos, y claro, los vecinos no vinieron más a reclamar su gatito, si se les escapa a cada rato, y aquí eso no sucede porque todos son animales libres, entonces pasaba algo en esa casa que a él no le gustaba, no se sentía a gusto, porque las energías se sienten y ellos las perciben aún mucho más.

Ahora se aceptan, incluso duermen juntos

Por último lo tenemos a nuestro nuevo pero no tan nuevo integrante de la familia, resulta que un vecino lo adoptó cuando era chiquito, asique siempre estuvo por nuestra casa, pero de visita, y cuando podíamos le dábamos un poco de agua y comida.

Hasta que el vecino se quedó sin trabajo y no pudo darle más de comer, empezó a dejarlo solito porque tenía que salir a buscar trabajo en otros lugares y bueno, ahora Kai es parte de nuestra familia, aquí no le faltará amor, techo, comida y veterinaria. Hay que educarlo un poco, porque no es muy obediente, pero es una cruza de perro de Pastor Alemán y esos perros son muy inteligentes, como Kai, sólo que a veces se hace el tonto!

Pronto tendremos que pasar por el bisturí para poder castrar a los machos que aún no fueron castrados, Humito aún es un gato chico, aunque ya pasó los 6 meses de edad seguramente y Kai es cachorro, tiene un año recién, pero ninguno de los dos se va a salvar. Raíz ya pasó por eso y lo tomó muy bien!!

Los tres se respetan y conviven en armonía, aunque Humito es un adolescente con las hormonas revolucionadas y no deja en paz a Raíz, él quiere jugar todo el tiempo, la muerde, la araña, le tira manotazos, se le tira encima, es terrible! Y lo mejor es que cuando lo retamos, sale corriendo para el baño, como si supiera que va a ir en penitencia. Parecen niños... y saben todo, cuando los mimamos como cuando los educamos, con mi compañero agradecemos tener mascotas tan leales y buenas.
