Who would ever think that mountains of sand would be fun. It's almost like being in the dessert. There's a little small river going through the bottom where families usually hang out with their kids and picnic spots on the outside if you get a spot that is open. This is the biggest dunes in the sates and the main thing to do here is sand boarding which is pretty much snowboarding on sand. There's about two places that rent out these boards unless you have your own, but there's not many places that you can do this so what are the chances you have one.
Anyways, you can also rent a sled and slide down if you want to do that or can't stand on the sand board. The only downside with this is that you have to walk up the dunes instead of riding up a lift but luckily the board isn't as heavy as a snowboard. The sand retains a lot of heat so make sure to wear shoes or your feet will be burning. You better also be prepared to get a work out in because all that walking on the sand is rough on your shins, especially going uphill and don't forget you're going to have to walk back down. The view at some of the top of the dunes aren't that great but its still worth it to go see it even though some views are more sand. One last warning, if you're planning on sand boarding or sledding and fall, be prepared for a hurting burn because the sand is or gets that hot. Hoping to get another fun adventure in soon!
