Being healthy isn't only good for you, it'a in your best interest as you get older. The older I get, the more I see how true this is. Currently as of now, my grandma has gone blind and my mother has many health issues including something wrong with one of her eyes and she can barely see out of it. Yes, blindness is an age related thing for the most part but preventing or controlling it has to deal with blood pressure. That's where my concern is.

Having high blood can run in the family and my grandma has that and has had that for a while. Her, living life in the past when health didn't really matter dismissed it for the most part. My family couldn't really regulate or watch her when everyone is working or busy with their lives. A good that did come out of it though was that most of my family saw the importance also and took steps into becoming healthier. My uncle was a chronic smoker and on the overweight side but stopped smoking and lost a lot of weight and has been so for a few years now. My aunt decided to become vegan and that has been great for her energy levels. I do to tease her about being vegan though, well me and some other family members. My other aunt beat cancer but unfortunately it returned and the second time had a different outcome (RIP auntie). I'm not bringing this up to get pity or sympathy, but to just bring some awareness or even a conversation.

Which brings me back to my mom and her health issues. She seemed to be doing great for a while but went to extremes, which can be very harmful as well. She would do a whole bunch of crazy diets, losing way too much weight and it got to the point where she didn't even eat at all unless I was there, which was rarely being in a different state and all. Right now she's in and out of the hospital and she doesn't even know what's wrong with her and she talks about not being sure how much longer she will be living, which just breaks my heart, and her mental state is just really down. I have decided to move back and be with my parents to spend time with them and hoping my story might motivate others to spend more time with their parents also or love them more.

This post is more about just letting some of my thoughts out, giving some insight from my point of view and hoping it resonates with people and encourages them to think about how they are living because it is important. One of my sayings and it's true that we only have one body so you should take care of it.
