The whole buzz about Wonder Woman had got me thinking that why I never liked her as a super hero. I was curious a few years ago because I had a comic book phase but anyway so here are some things that makes Wonder Woman one of the most lamest characters in DC comics.
*Because she was a character made by a man for a man. So all those feminists who look up to her as a symbol of gender equality might have a rude awakening. The sexually appealing clothes are there to prove that you need to show skin, some generous amount of cleavage and thigh action in order to save the world. I have yet to see a male hero wearing shorts to save the world.
*the creator of Wonder Woman had a fetish for bondage and believed that binding women was beneficial for their psychological well being. Hence the bracelets and all amazonians wearing them.
*Bracelets, although deflect attacks from enemies and 'protect' Wonder Woman, are actually there to restrain her powers otherwise she won't be able to control it. Which is a subtle way of saying that women either can't handle power or should not be given power. Gee thanks. Also in earlier comics it was revealed that if WW lost her bracelets she would get full of rage or super angry. Hinting that women can go mad with power so might as well tie em up.
*The best of all is her weakness: that if her bracelets are chained together by a man she would be rendered powerless and helpless. This tactic can't work if another woman does it. So her being a demigod/superhero/champion of justice etc is basically useless if half of the worlds population can subjugate her in a jiffy.
I get it that all super heroes have weaknesses but this one couldn't have been more ridiculous enough.
