Hello STEEMIT!
I'm a single mom whose life has come to revolve around my kids and blockfolio. Ok, perhaps it's not quite that dire but it's close. After some, ahem!, interesting experiences with Reddit - which I might write about another time - I stumbled into cryptocurrency and a lot of things changed. For one, I got in right before the December explosion and for a good two months was having crazy thoughts of putting my kids through college easily, paying off my house (this year!), and more. I didn't know much about the tech then, I didn't think it was going to be some get rich quick scheme, but wow that was a wild ride. I didn't know enough to cash out, and I watched all of those gains disappear as quickly as they'd come. Since then, I've been getting educated - on blockchain, on projects, on trading, etc. I work during the day, spend evenings with my kids, study all of this at night, and check blockfolio 100-200 times per day.
Here's something else interesting that's happened --- I've lost interest in dating or, to put it another way, I've lost the feeling that I need to be dating. I've found this community of others who invest in cryptocurrency, but I know no one in real life who does. The more I learn the greater sense of control over the direction of my life I feel like I have (hope that I have?), and the more independent and confident I feel (hope that I'm becoming?). The more I think I can make this work on my own the more I realize I'm really happy with my life right now. Or maybe I'm just putting walls up.
Am I the only one? How does crypto fit into your relationships? Trading 24/7? Making financial decisions many don't understand and some see as gambling? Do the swings affect your mood? Etc.!!!
