Have you ever wondered about the history of New Years Eve?
New Years Eve holiday started around 2000B.C. and was first celebrated in March by Ancient Mesopotamians. The ancient Greeks celebrated it on the winter solstice and the Persians celebrated it on the Fall solstice.
Romans celebrated the new year on March 1 and it was a 10 month calendar. Roman king Numa Pontilius added the months of January and February to the calendar in 700 B.C and New Years was first celebrated on January 1st in the year 153.
It is thought that the Babylonians first started to make New Year's resolutions with things like paying off debt or doing a noble deed.
