Hive Open Mic Week 102 / Una Palabra (Vocal Cover) By @migueydani
What a pleasure to greet you beautiful Hive community, for this week 102 of Hive Open Mic I want to bring you a song that for me represents the Tocando Almas theme. The song is called "Una Palabra" and it is by Cuban singer Carlos Varela. This song is part of his album Nubes released in 2000.
I got to know this song in 2004 thanks to a movie starring Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning called Man on Fire. It is part of the soundtrack, they use it at the end in a very emotional part between the actors and from there I clicked with the song.
The singer Carlos Varela is characterized by his Cuban troubadour voice giving a very peculiar touch to his songs and this one is definitely no exception. I selected this song also because it is very reflective and poetic in a way.
I hope you enjoy it and that you like it, I made it with much love for you.
Lyrics
A word says nothing
And at the same time hides everything
Like the wind that hides the water
Like the flowers that hide the mud
A look says nothing
And at the same time it says everything
Like the rain on your face
Or the old map of some treasure
Like the rain on your face
Or the old map of some treasure
A truth tells nothing
And at the same time hides everything
Like a fire that will not go out
Like a stone that is born dust
If one day you miss me I will be nothing
And at the same time I will be everything
Because in your eyes are my wings
And there is the shore where I am drowning
Because in your eyes are my wings
And there's the shore where I'm drowning
