Tonights sketch using all the tricks in the book. 3D, painting, photobash, the works to see what I could pull off in a really short amount of time. Overall about 2 hrs, without a prior concept. I just figured I was tired of doing sinister looking cubes, so I was going to change it up and do a sinister looking sphere.

The 3D part is pretty simple, just a sphere and some displacement for all the details and the mountains. I then rendered out a few passes to help with the painting part.

This is called an ID pass, and it just allows me to isolate different parts of each model.

This one is called a normals pass, and it assigns a different color to each directional normal(direction each surface is facing) So that I can select and isolate different areas on each model based on direction. Basically makes it to where I can re-light the models.

Then there's the z-depth pass that allows me to isolate and select different depth ranges in the image. It's good for adding atmosphere.

Here's how the painting went.

That's about all for this guy. Was pretty fun to do. I just looked at the Steem price, holy crap it's .52, wow..52 cent Steem. I'd been around some Steemians that said this could happen, but I honestly didn't think it would ever get this low, pretty crazy. Anyway, as always, thanks for looking peeps!
