One beautiful summers day I was in the living room after cleaning all of the windows and THUD! I went outside and investigated. Right below the main living room window to my horror I found a tiny, lifeless, fluorescent green hummingbird. I waited for some time and there was no movement. After a bit I decided to pick up the tiny bird and see if I could wake it up. It took some coaxing with gentle head rubs and soon it was showing tiny but viable signs of life. At this point I summoned all of my conscious energy and focused it upon this precious bird. I would talk to it and gently stroke it's fragile head and body until it would move slightly. I continued this for about half an hour until the bird was able to slightly stand up although still it was not opening it's eyes very well.
After about another hour of manipulation I was able to slightly coax the bird to stand on several surfaces until it finally gained use of it's tiny claws and was barely able to hold itself on the chainlink fence to the side of the house.
Slowly we graduated to different objects until it was able to hold itself up on tree bark and such.
For the next hour or so I continued until the poor little beauty was opening its eyes with more frequency and making slight efforts to fly away. However it was still extremely disorientated and seemed ready to just give up. But I would not let it! After a huge effort and only slight revival I was told by others to give up. Apparently this was exactly the nonsense I needed to motivate myself even further. I kept exercising the bird until it was standing upright and opening it's eyes more regularly. This went on for some time and allowed for some very close up pictures. At some point I began hearing the sound of another humming bird seeming to call for it's mate. Sure enough this seemed to perk up the tiny bird in my palm and give it reason to not go back to sleep. Within just a few minutes the magnificent creature lept valiantly from my palm after hearing it's mate close by and flew onto the maple tree above.
Next thing I knew it was abound and flying around with the other humming bird. That was the end of our interactions and I can only hope it's recovery progressed and it was able to live on. I went on with my life knowing I did the best I could do.
