I'm here again for another nature post.
Among the tiny visitors we always have, there is this tiny but very active bird. It has a yellow belly and a blue throat. Its back is olive brown, and its bill is very thin and slightly long. Its thin, long bill is perfect for extracting nectar from flowers.
In our local language, we call it "Tamsi". These birds are very good singers. They are small but sing loudly.
Some people say it's the Philippine hummingbird, but the truth is, there are no hummingbirds in the Philippines. This little songbird is classified as a Garden Sunbird and a Philippine endemic species. But according to some research, they can't be found in Palawan.
So, for Filipinos reading my blog, now we know 馃榿. This is a sunbird 馃憤
Here are a few photos I managed to capture because this little guy keeps on jumping from one stem to another. 馃榿
Sorry, this one 馃憜 is a bit blurry because, as you can see, it's trying to fly to the next branch again. 馃槀
I really love this last photo, it was singing, and I captured the exact moment it opened its bill. Such a great moment 馃挌
The bokeh effect under the twig also adds to the vibe.
