So while the eclipse was going on I decided what better way to spend it than being inspired by this cosmic occurrence. Here is the finished artwork. Below I will post the process from pencil to pixels.
First was sketching while looking at references.
These references helped me come up with a concept I wanted the design to have. Just looking around on Google images can help you come up with a wealth of ideas.
Okay so materials, I used a 0.7 mechanical pencil on regular office printer paper.
I like working with light materials that flow well in my hands. Allowing me to lay strokes down as lightly as I please.
Now my penciling phase is done, this is the completed sketch.
Here I am digitally tracing and preparing to color the image.
