Already for months on end I've been looking for a property. Finally after a lot of viewings and paperwork I finally got the key to my very own place.

It's a 70 square meter apartment with two bedrooms and a little balcony. The place is currently completely bare and needs some TLC to make it the place I want it to be. The smallest bedroom is not very big and will suffice as my workspace. Handy as I work remotely from home.

The layout of the place is shown below:

In the next months there's quite some work to do:

  • Remove all the wall paper
  • Strip the kitchen
  • Stip the bathroom
  • Reroute the electrical wires
  • Reroute bathroom piping
  • Renovate the Bathroom/toilet
  • Install a new flow.

As you can see, quite some work to do! Fun work though! My day job consists of desk work solely. These hands-on project are something I really enjoy. A change of scenes so to say. My plan is to document some of the progress here for fun.

While I got the key on the 1st of June, I already did some small work in the flat. Removing the wall-paper. Take out a small wall in the kitchen. And I started removing a portion of the kitchen tiles today. Here a few foto's:

This machine made all the difference!

Here's a before and after pic of the wall removal:

The idea for the new kitchen will be something along the lines of this here but with different color and style:

Ok that's it for now. Next week a plumber will come to close of an old gas pipe and help with some of the rerouting work. Let's see if we can keep the leakings to a minimum :P
