What if you've done things differently,
Would he be happy to stay?
But there's no way to know what the future holds,
Even if you cry and pray.

They warned you—didn't they?
Love was never enough to keep relationship going;
You must surrender as soon as you can,
Save yourself—that's what you should be doing.

Stop thinking about what could have been,
Don't indulge yourself into a fantasy that he will come back;
You're clinging on a relationship that doesn't exist,
Hopelessness, desperation and agony is what you attract.

You must make a decision to let go and move on,
And it's okay if you still love him, no rush on that;
But you have to know that it's time to turn the pages,
So don't give him the permission to hurt you stat.

Sooner or later you can let go of the past,
But first be kind, forgive, and give yourself a chance;
Don't follow his whereabouts, like checking an atlas,
Don't make fool of yourself by entertaining this nonchalant.

“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.” ― C. JoyBell C.
