Mom and Pizza

I took my almost 90 year old mother out for a long drive on Sunday. We went to many places near where she used to live and we reminisced about days gone by. The world seems to be in panic mode and social distancing is the theme of our times. Even churches closed and I see family members don’t even hug. But ordering take out pizza 🍕and a drive in the country, just mom and me, a great release for cabin fever.

What cannot be solved by mom and pizza?

As we were out on the country roads of Virginia, we drove by this place. I turned the car around and parked in the driveway while I got out and enjoyed the scenery. The flowering trees lining the driveway and even many petals on the ground. The contrasts of the canopy of colors and the green of spring brought a smile to my face and the face of my dear mom.
