Are you thinking about what to prepare this weekend? Worry no more as I have got tips for you on how to prepare one of the most Nigerians African soup, Afang soup.

Afang soup is a simple soup that you can use just Maggi and crayfish to prepare without stress especially here in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Most of my friends can kill for this particular soup, lol馃槀. It is loved by all.

Afang soup is prepared in every occasion one has, funeral, wedding ceremony, naming ceremony, child dedication, ordination, name it........

All you need do is to go get these items in the market

  • Crayfish
  • Afang leaves
  • Waterleaf
  • Meat
  • Fish
  • Cow skin
  • Stockfish
  • Perewinkle
  • Snail
  • Maggi
  • Palm oil
  • Pepper
  • Salt
    When you don buy all these items finish, na to just prepare am.
    Here you go with the procedures;

Most Afang leaves are full of sand especially in this rainy season, so it is advisable that one should wash the leaves well and dry before slicing it. During dry season, you can either wash or use your hands to clean the leaves before slicing.

  • Here's the Afang leaves, pluck it and then wash it....

  • Slice am into small pieces so you can pound them very well.

  • Pound am after you don slice finish

  • Wash the waterleaf very well to avoid sand

  • Slice the Waterleaf

  • Wash your meat, cow skin, perewinkle, fish, snail, Stockfish and pepper.

  • Put am for pot and steam for 10 minutes
  • Add Waterleaf and Palm oil, Maggi, pepper, salt, crayfish and cook for 3 minutes

  • Turn it and then add the Afang and turn for 2 minutes
  • Scoop after that and serve it fresh and being down your pot.
