Yeah its been a while since i have played guitar, in fact i guestimated it had been about 6 months since i had done any kind of work with my guitar on air the other day and looking at my last open mic entry i was spot on Steemit Open Mic Week 104 – Cope Cover – Sara Bareilles - Gravity.
So i decided i would dust off the old gal and take her for a spin with whatever track i was feeling at the time... i usually just tap into some kind of emotion im having (present, past or future) and find a track that represents that then go hell for leather tryna get something down i can post up or yall.
Well... when you havent played in a while your hands get kinda... 'soft' i guess, and you have a bit of a time building up the callus on the fingertips.... and that is kinda where im at for now, oh the pain of it all, lol. So i have the usual fingertips coming through but im also getting a bridge callus on the index finger as well, i must have really fallen of the wagon this time because i have never had one of them break out before.
What i hate the most is having the song in my head and heart and not being able to perform it, i tend to lose the juju for the jam if i cant play it and belt it out. im doing i "one on one (sometimes two) off" cycle and hopefully im on top of it soon and can record something. im cracking the vocals out daily so i should be up to scratch with that before anything else and i can make it mesh and come together nicely. When my hands catch up that is.
