INTRODUCTION
Life is a journey. Every journey is aimed at a particular destination. A “particular destination” because every destination is not the desired destination. There might be several stopovers, yet the destination is just one. The stopovers are not the destination. Several issues warrant the stopover but the destination must always be kept in mind.
Do you really understand that life is a journey with a specific destination? A lot of people don't know this. They just drive their lives wherever the wind tosses. A life that is tossed by the winds of life is purposeless. It is only a purposeful life that shall fulfill destiny. Destiny refers to a destination. So, as a person living in this world, does it occur to you that you have a destination? Inability to define your destination in life is a disaster. May you not end in crisis.
Understanding The Stopovers
Like I mentioned earlier, stopovers are not the desired destination. Sometimes, one gets tired or weary on the course of the journey. Such a person can take a rest somewhere for sometime. The rest should be to regain lost strength and get refired. It is very important to understand that it is not everything that you do when resting that will actually help you in the course of your journey. There are things that you do that will only destroy your ability to reach your destination. Until you reach your destination, you have not fulfilled your purpose. Unnecessary fun or companions who don't align with your vision can traumatize your aim if you accommodate them while waiting.
It is not good to forget the rule while resting. It is also wise to keep on guard and be watchful while waiting. Remember the story of the young prophet and the old prophet (1Kings 13). Waiting and resting when he was supposed not to wait and rest, cost him his life. Maybe he rested at the wrong place. So, stopovers and resting must be cautious.
Your Purpose Is Your Destination
What is your purpose in life? This is the beginning of real life. When a person has come to the time in his life that he could reasonably ask himself the question: WHAT IS MY PURPOSE FOR LIFE? WHY AM I IN THIS WORLD? Such a person has just received the light of his life. The light is what enlightens every man that comes into the world.
John 1:9 (KJV) That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Having money is not actually the purpose. Possessing wealth and other material things in this world may not be the destination. There is a purpose that everyone of us was born to fulfill. Seek after that purpose and pursue it to fulfill it.
How Old Are You?
Every time you answer that question or someone asks you that. It is an indication that the timer is ticking. If you were meant to live a hundred years and you are now twenty-five, it means that you are having seventy-five more years to accomplish your purpose. Some people are still being corrected and pursued after by parents and others even at forty plus to sit down and do something meaningful with their lives. What an aberration! You do not understand that you have things to achieve and accomplish in life even at such an age? What are you living for? Don't be another waste of existence because there have been millions of wasted destinies.
