Hi guys! So today I decided to complete a crochet project I abandoned for five months hahaha. I bet you'd agree with me that Every crocheter has that one piece they've been working on for months or even a year😆, or should I say an abandoned project hahaha.
It's funny how you'd just forget about it and on one faithful day, you'd remember you have something you've been working on and just pick it up and do a little and abandon it again😂.
Just like every other crochet piece I started, I thought I would finish it up within a few days or even a week. I abandoned it and kept on procrastinating and well five months have gone by and I finally finished it today Yay!!!
Honestly, I am so happy I was able to finish it up today, even tho it took me five months to get here😂. Now I have to go through my bag and look for pieces I haven't finished, and well, you know what! Finish them up😌
For this short, I used 100% acrylic yarn to make it. A number one hook and a sky blue and navy blue yarn.
My hook got missing while I was joining the two parts together so I had to use a 2.5mm hook to complete it. However, it gave it a different look at the bottom since the size of the hook you use determines how big every loop would be.
for the waistband.
I Made 15 chains and used the ribbing pattern. After taking your waist measurement, divide it into two equal parts. And only on one part add an extra five chains.
After you're done ribbing, do a double crochet into every loop, chain 1 when you get to the end, and repeat the same pattern but this time, when you get to the middle, make three double crochet into the middle stitch. Continue this pattern until you get your measurement from your waist to your torso.
Do the same pattern for both the back and front.
Once you're done, in the middle make 10 chains and go around it three times for both panels.
To join the two pieces together, first join the part you chained 10 together then work your way around one leg until you get the desired length. Repeat the same for the other side and you're done.
For the sides, I was supposed to make a rope to attach both sides, but I ran out of yarn so I decided to join the two sides together. And it worked perfectly well.
Moral lesson: Procrastination gets you nowhere. At the end of the day, you still get to do whatever it is you are running away from. So why not just do it🤷♀️.
