A basis for a "No Touch" is an interesting concept. And it's difficult because every savings account should have some end goal. For me, the "No Touch" account is a long-term safety net for old age. I don't consider it my retirement savings/investment account. My "No Touch" account is a safety net in case the retirement savings/investment account fails to perform as expected. I think of it in this way. If the retirement savings/investment account performs as expected, then I will enjoy a comfortable retirement with some champagne days and nice trips. However, if the retirement savings/investment account fails to perform, at least I will have the money in the "No Touch" account for groceries. Finally, if the retirement savings/investment account performs well, then the "No Touch" account will be an inheritance.
