The juxtaposition of the child's sand castle and the author's desire to build a beautiful castle are striking. The child has a desire to create, destroy and repeat. All for fun. But the author is past the fun. The adventure must have a beautiful and permanent result. I think there is fear that the author worries the pursuit of an adventure may in the end be a regret of leaving a comfortable if mundane present. Also, here from @listnerds
