I'm a big fan of Hive. I like it, I use it, I have a little. I keep it in a jar on top of my refrigerator. I'd like to put more in that jar. That's where you come in. (Paraphrased and adapted from The Wedding Singer)

So it's not in a jar on top of my refrigerator. My $0.99 of Hive is safely in a wallet. I earned my little bit of Hive through posting. It's not much. I want it to be more. That's where you come in.

I tried to buy some more Hive. I opened an account on the exchange Bittrex. I use a small local bank to hold my meager US Dollars, not actually a jar on top of my refrigerator. Bittrex uses a verification system called Plaid for bank accounts. Small banks aren't in Plaid. So I can't link my bank account to Bittrex. Undeterred, I moved some funds to Bittrex via debit card. Ouch, that 3 percent charge for using a debit card hurt!

I bought some Hive on Bittrex. Well sorta, I did. It shows in my Bittrex holdings account. But when I go to transfer to a my Hive Wallet there's this message:
Notice: Deposits and withdrawals are temporarily offline. Automated Maintenance. Please generate a new memo for HIVE, this will be different than your STEEM memo.

I want to move the Hive from Bittrex to my Hive Wallet. Then I could spend the Hive on some things I really want like DEC or SPS. But the temporarily offline, Automated Maintenance message has been there for days. Bittrex is not quick to respond to any inquiries. I'm sure they are totally legit, just really busy.

I am sure I did this wrong. There's probably a simple way to turn American greenback dollars into golden honey Hive. I'm still searching. If you have solution,That's where you come in. Feel free to share your preferred steps of converting USD to Hive.
