While Gaziantep is emerging in many ways, ZEUGMA is the most popular aspect recently.
It is a city built on hills in the east of Gaziantep's Nizip district. Seleukos Nikator I, one of the commanders of Alexander the Great, founded a city called Selevkeia Euphrates in 300 BC, where Alexander the Great crossed the Euphrates river. He founded a city opposite this city for his wife Apama. These cities were connected to Rome and took the name ZEUGMA. During the Roman period, the city lived its golden age. The Sassanid king Shapur I burned Zeugma and the city never regained its former glory. During the Zeugma period, they advanced a lot in the field of folk art and left many works with ornaments and mosaics. During the excavations, it was revealed that Zeugma was a complete mosaic city.

Gaziantep Castle
It was first built as a watchtower on the mound during the Roman period. Finally, the person who made him take this image is the Byzantine emperor Lustinianos.
In the years following the Byzantine period, especially the Mamluks, Dulkadiroğlus and Ottomans repaired the castle from time to time according to the needs and put repair inscriptions about it.

Gaziantep was formerly known as Ayıntap. It got this name because of its abundant and lush waters. Then this name evolved and the name Antep emerged. Due to its outstanding success in the War of Independence, this city was awarded the title of Gazi. This city is also under protection as a gastronomic city by UNESCO.
Gaziantep is also very famous for its architecture.
Antep architecture, which is one of the oldest places, also has a deep-rooted tradition.

Due to the heat of the city, the houses built of cut stone are also famous for keeping them cool in summer.

Coppersmith
Another tradition that still continues in Gaziantep is coppersmithing. It is not known exactly when coppersmithing began. All that is known about it is that it is as old as the beginning of human life. Today, copper, which is the most preferred metalworking art, takes its place in our homes by being tinned. Copper, which has a very wide usage area; It is used in many areas such as kitchen tools and ornaments. One of the benefits of the widespread use of coppersmithing in Gaziantep was that it attracted the attention of tourists and made them buy these copper items as souvenirs. I think it is a very good practice to spread the value of both economic and cultural and manual labor
