We had several hikes and walks in the area of Lake Isabella and Bakersfield. Beautiful and empty trails, but nothing that one could call a tourist attraction - not from European perspective at least.
It was a good a relaxing day, no National Park / Monument / Point of Interest etc. Just a casual day in beautiful scenery.
After two weeks spent in the dry and hot climate of Nevada, Utah and Arizona, California west of the Sierra Nevada crest is soothing green and cool.
